Overview
A private day along the Whale Route to Hermanus to watch southern right whales from the shore. Southern right whales come to the Cape to breed and calve, usually from August to November. Your guide drives over Sir Lowry's Pass and along the coast through Gordon's Bay, Pringle Bay and Betty's Bay, with the Harold Porter Botanical Gardens and the Fernkloof Nature Reserve on the way. In Hermanus you watch from the shore and can visit the Old Harbour Museum. A whale-watching boat trip is optional, and there is a wine tasting en route. Pickup from your hotel in Cape Town between 08:00 and 09:00, back around 18:00.
Run by African Eagle Day Tours.
