Africanyon Standard Canyon Trip

A guided canyoning trip down a river gorge in The Crags near Plettenberg Bay: swimming, water slides and abseiling waterfalls. The trip starts at the Africanyon base with registration, a wetsuit and kit, and a briefing. A short drive takes you to the river, where you wade the shallows, swim through tannin-coloured mountain pools, go down natural water slides and abseil waterfalls into the gorge. First-timers are welcome; qualified guides run every trip. Arrive at the base one hour before your booking time for the briefing and gear: late arrivals are left behind. Bring a swimming costume, a towel and shoes you can swim and walk in (the operator rents shoes if you have none). Runs in light rain. From 7 years. Groups of more than 10 can ask the operator for a special trip.
